The Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew announced last Wednesday, April 20th, that the redesign of the $20 bill will feature the abolitionist and humanitarian Harriet Tubman. The Secretary also announced that an image paying homage to the leaders of the women’s suffrage movement would be depicted on the back of the redesign of the $10 bill, with Alexander Hamilton’s image remaining on the front.

This announcement is largely a result of the campaigning conducted by the Women on 20s organization as well as other women’s history organizations. Learn more here.
