Jane Abraham, Chair

Jane Abraham is a full-time volunteer with a wide range of experience on educational, cultural and social service boards. Currently, she serves as a member of the board of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and support scientific research to cure breast cancer. Prior to that, she served as a member of the board of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Advocacy Alliance.

Jane is also a member of the board of the Arab American National Museum, the first museum in the world devoted to Arab American history and culture, a member of the board of The Nurturing Network, an international charitable organization that responds to the immediate and comprehensive needs of a woman facing the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy and chairman of the board of the Susan B. Anthony List, a bipartisan, pro-life organization devoted to elected more pro-life women to political office. Her past service includes being a member of the board of Covenant House Michigan, a faith-based non-profit organization that provides shelter, educational and vocational programs as well as other support services to at-risk and homeless youth ages 13-22. She continues to serve on their Advisory Board.

Jane was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lab School of Washington, whose mission focuses on providing comprehensive diagnostic and prescriptive educational services specifically designed to meet the needs of learning disabled students, to assist them in becoming productive members of society, and to enhance the capacity of families and professionals to work with them. She was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Meridian International Center, which serves as the nation’s premier non-profit institution dedicated to building sustainable partnerships between America and the world by engaging the public and private sectors through leadership exchanges, idea exchanges, cultural diplomacy and virtual connections.

In her professional career, Jane was a senior Republican Party official at both the state and national levels and also was the founder of Abraham Strategies, LLC, a strategic marketing, government affairs and event planning business.

She is married to former U. S. Secretary of Energy and U.S. Senator Spencer Abraham. They have three children and reside in McLean, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC. Jane earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration and Public Policy from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, where she served as President of the Student Government.

Jane was nominated to the Commission by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
